De officiella svenska mästerskapen i drinkblandning arrangeras varje år, under benämningen Årets Bartender av Sveriges Bartenders Gille. Tävlingarna har pågått sedan 1949, vilket gör det till det äldsta mästerskapet i sin kategori i Sverige. Vinnaren får därefter representera Sverige i VM-finalen som går av stapeln till hösten i Singapore.
Anmälan till tävlingen är gratis, det enda som krävs är medlemskap i Sveriges Bartenders Gille. Anmälan öppnar den 1 januari och pågår till den 31 januari. Kvalificering utförs därefter den 28 februari på fyra olika platser runt om i landet. Finalen äger rumt den 28 mars på Grand Hotel.
Tävlingsreglerna är följande:
- Vilken typ av drink som helst är tillåten, så länge den innnehåller max 7 cl alkohol
- Endast ingredienser som är tillgängliga i Sverige är tillåtna
- Vid tävlingen ska den tävlande göra fem exemplar av sin drink inom sex minuter
- Drinken bedöms därefter av en professionell och branschrelaterad jury.

Kyle / You're right Joyce, not all people would be able to work in the raesaurtnt business. Anyone can do it though and I have a lot of faith in our youth actually. You have to start somewhere and I think the best place to start is directly out of high school. This is your chance to prove to the people around you that you are responsible enough to make your own decisions and the way to do that is to get off your butt and do something. Go get a job, do your best at it and see where it takes you you will gain respect from everyone around you and you will develop a strong work ethic. I'm not worried about the youth, there are plenty of people who are ready to step up after high school and those are the people that I'm looking to connect with not just any high school kid.
